We've moved from Sarasota FL to the Charlotte NC area. Our daughter and family moved here five years ago to care for her husband’s parents. They had the audacity to take our grandson with them! We were visiting them when my husband had a stroke. What a shock! We decided it would be good to move to the area to be close to family. As Lor’s health improved, I began substitute-teaching part time. The school asked if I would consider coming on staff full time. Last year, I worked in the Media Center and this year I’m running the computer lab. After all the years volunteering and being on boards of organizations supporting education for at-risk kids, this is a good fit. Daughter, Kim, teaches fourth grade at the same school. She earned her master’s degree in reading a year ago and is now working on a master’s in curriculum and supervision. She is an awesome teacher, much loved by the students and their parents. Her husband, Dave, is retired and substitute-teaches at the school. Grandson, Jamie, will received his bachelor’s degree in finance this year and plans on grad school.
