Dad was diagnosed with cancer of an unknown primary source around the first week of September, and died just six short weeks later. All four of his children spent the last few weeks of his life in our home town of Lindsborg, KS, reminiscing and sharing our love for dad. After working for the defense industry for several years, I put my own Engineering Consulting Company together and for the most part, did military business with Canadian and foreign industry interest. I eventually sold the firm and retired at 55. After a few years, I was asked to join SIEMENS as a consultant where I retired for the second time at the age of 67. Deb and I settled in Chesterfield Mo. Our 2 married children and 3 grandchildren live in Wildwood, Mo. Travel and grandchildren have become our current avocation. But in a very good way.

I retired 8 years ago from a 30 year career in retailing having worked for 3 different companies. I left Saint Louis right after graduation only to return many years later with my job. My wife, Arlue, and I own a terrific home on the banks of the Mississippi south of the city and another in Fort Myers, FL on a golf course. We travel the world extensively including Tibet, Mongolia, New Zealand, Russia, Peru and Patagonia as well as the usual spots in Europe. We spend every September in a house on the coast of Maine relaxing, hiking and just reading books on the rocks listening to the ocean. I am a nationally ranked triathlete and still race when I can; occasionally picking up a few trophies. I can't believe that our 50th is just around the corner!
Richard and his wife Elizabeth Langer moved to New York City in 2008. They love the city and simply decided go where their heads told them they should be. He joined the New York Law School faculty after spending 35 years at Georgetown University Law Center. His wife retired from her law practice to become a full time artist.

Hello to fellow classmates of 1961: I am richly blessed with a wonderful life. I am divorced but enjoying my business life tremendously. I teach art history at University of Carol. I am in my 21st year of teaching and University of Carol is going strong. I have thought of retiring, but my business is just too good for me to retire. University of Carol has non-credit but very enriching classes in the history of art, the present state of the art world, art around the entire globe and what happened yesterday! I show slides and do power point presentations. Its so darned much fun that I hate to give it up. I have two beautiful girls (daughters) - one of whom is a CPA and systems analyst and C.E. O. of a large corporation; the other daughter is an M.D. and E.R. doctor. They each have two children, so I have four grandchildren altogether, ranging in age from 13 down to five. Two girls, two little boys. They are great!!Life is wonderful and I am happy, healthy and etc.Cannot wait to see everyone at our 50th reunion. I cannot believe we are having a 50th. Penny Sue Davis, 66, of Annapolis, died of rheumatoid arthritis Jan. 9 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Ms. Davis was born June 13, 1943, in Sharon, Pa., to the late Edward and Lorraine Davis. She earned her B.S. in International Affairs from Georgetown University and her M.A. in Economics / International Affairs from George Washington University. She held the following jobs for the State of Maryland: 1965-70, Research Assistant, Economic Development; 970-73, Economist, Development Research Center; 1981-84, Chief of Technical Services; 1984-86, Chief of Housing Assistance; 1986-92, Director of Housing and Community Service; 1992-96, Director, Grants and Loans Management; 1996-2003, 1st Deputy Director (Economist) of Research; 2003-present, Managing Partner, Neighborhood Solutions, LLC. She also worked for the World Bank from 1979-81 as Asst. Director of Development Planning. She was a talented artist until her arthritis made it impossible to paint and draw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward G. Davis. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Donna Davis of Murphysboro, Ill.; and her nephew, Adam Davis and his wife Heather of Atlanta, Ga. Arrangements made by John M. Taylor Funeral Home, Annapolis. As of Jan. 2007, I am the publication manager for a company called Convergin, dealing in converging telecommunication solutions. Taught and did research in archaeology at Tel-Aviv University in Israel. I still do photography, and have had several one man shows and permanent exhibitions. I continue to play trumpet and euphonium, founded the Kfar Saba Israel Community Band, Cherry Orchard Brass Ensemble, play in a swinging big band and co-founded the non-profit Kfar-Saba Music Foundation, dedicated to teaching music to children in schools. I am now a grandfather to three grandsons and one granddaughter.

Joseph E. Flynn, Jr., 64, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away October 9, 2006, at his home. Joe was born June 20, 1942, to Dr. Joseph and Marietta (Muckerman) Flynn, Sr., in St. Louis, Mo. He was an Urban Planner-City Administrator. He attended St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. He was a member of the American Planning Association, International City Planners Association, and a 32-year member of the Friends of Bill W. He was Chairman of the Blue Springs Charter Commission, member and Chairman of the Jackson County Planning Commission, member of the Blue Springs Planning Commission and scholar of the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother David Flynn. We sometimes travel to escort it. Richelle is studying business psychology in graduate school. Our son, John, the Marine Pilot, was just selected to be a member of the Navy's Blue Angel's Flight Demonstration Team. The grandchildren continue to grow and explore the world around them. We are proud of all of them. I am still working part time. Looking forward to seeing folks at the 50th Reunion.

Bill is a plant ecologist, and teaches evolution, plant ecology, conservation bioloy at LSU. I have a research associate position in the Dept. of Biological Sciences. Both our kids live here in Baton Rouge. I played soccer for 14 years (and would still be out on the field if my back had not given out), and still love animals. We have 3 dogs (plus two of our daughter's bassets.

Harold William Plengemeier, a longtime restaurateur in Clayton, died Tuesday (April 5, 1994) at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur after suffering from cancer. He was 50 and lived in west St. Louis County. Mr. Plengemeier was co-owner of the old Branding Iron Restaurant for about 18 years. He had worked in the family-owned business for about 28 years. He was a past chairman of the board at Hamilton Christian Church in Creve Coeur. Mr. Plengemeier was born in St. Louis. He graduated from Horton Watkins High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla. He served in the Army in the mid-1960s. He was the son of Louise Krigbaum Plengemeier, who died in 1968. Among the survivors are his wife, Linda Plengemeier; three daughters, Lorie Plengemeier of New Zealand, and Christina Plengemeier and Kimberly Plengemeier, both of West County; his father and stepmother, Harold B. and Virginia Plengemeier of Ladue; two sisters, Sandra Vitt of Creve Coeur and Susan Vogt of West County; and a brother, David Plengemeier of Chesterfield. After 11 years as a staff attorney at Legal Services for the Elderly, I am now an administrative law judge with the Environmental Control Board in New York City. I am very active in the outdoor/hiking community; I lead hikes for the Appalachian Mountain Club, work with land conservation groups. Still play the flute.
I lived in Denny White's childhood home for 28 years, where I was first married, then divorced, and where I raised my three daughters. During that time, I also developed my career in art, and I have continued to be a freelance artist, using watercolor and mixed media. I am presently married to Rick Knox, the Chief of Police of Olivette, who I met after placing a 911 call 25 years ago. I now have five grandchildren, and balance my time with my family, my friends, my art and my horseback riding.

I've been married to Gary Sacks (class of '59) for almost 23 years. Our blended family consists of six terrific children (all of whom graduated from Ladue) and seven amazing grandchildren - three in St. Louis, three in Chicago and one in Peru. Gary is semi-retired from his law practice and has discovered poker, and I love baby-sitting, knitting, exercise, cooking and more babysitting!

Now retired with new title of "Trailing Spouse." Moved from the San Francisco Peninsula to Far Hills, NJ in 1994. Loving the rich history of this rural area and only 40 mile commute to NYC. Looking forward to our 50th reunion -- OMG!

Retired and moved to Chapel Hill area and are loving it. Oldest son Steve is a surgeon in DC and now we are only 4.5hrs. away from our three grandsons! Son Brian and wife Heather live in St.Louis-he is exec.chef at Algonquin.Son Andy is single and lives in Baltimore. Life is good!!!!

I've lived my entire life in St. Louis. Graduated with a BSME from the Univ. of Mo. at Rolla in June of 1966. Worked for Wagner Electric for a year and a half before joining AT&T for 34 years, retiring at the age of 57 because of Parkinsons Disease. My wife Carol and I live in Wildwood in West County and were blessed with a daughter Christine and son Jim, and 6 grandkids, 5 girls and 1 boy.
